Mission Statement
Apollo Middle School’s mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment that promotes academic excellence, exemplary attitudes, acceptable behavior and a commitment to success.
Belief Statement
At Apollo Middle School, we believe:
The ABC/123 program is the foundation for all our school improvement initiatives. In order to initiate change, there must be a foundation of expectation that all stakeholders are accountable. A common language of communication and direction that all can understand, the ABC/123 program sets the baseline for expectations of all students, faculty, staff and parents.
Philosophy Statement
“A” represents ATTITUDE and is one of the most important tenants. All stakeholders must have and model the proper attitude for success in the school setting. Students must come to school everyday with the right attitude ready to learn and take responsibility for their learning. Teachers and staff must come to work each day with the attitude that the students are the priority and their success is the component that drives the purpose of the school. Parents must have the attitude of support, involvement and shared responsibility in their child’s education.
“B” represents BEHAVIOR and is equally as important a tenant as attitude. Students must model and exhibit the proper behavior in school at all times.
“C” represents COMMITMENT and is the responsibility of all the stakeholders. Students must be committed to being the best student, role model, leader and citizen they can be. Teachers and staff must be committed to being the best teachers, role models and leaders that they can be. Parents must be committed to taking an active part in their child’s education by being involved in parent organizations and with their child’s teacher. Administration and staff must be committed to do whatever it takes to help the teachers and students be successful.
The “1-2-3” is a simple tool for students to help them with a self-check to see if they are on task and committed.
“1” is to be where you are supposed to be.
“2” is to be on time.
“3” is to do what you are supposed to do.
In summary, everyone must come to school everyday with the attitude that Apollo is a learning environment committed to the success of all students. Our behavior will model that attitude and commitment. |
